As you work on a room in need of some design love, you get hands-on experience applying the lessons. Each module goes over an essential step in the process, and one leads to the next. You get only what you need, and no more.

Module 1. Introduction; decluttering: Learn about the major feng shui principles of flow and harmony and how they apply to interior design. You will also learn helpful tips for decluttering, which is the first step in opening up your space to new possibilities.

Module 2. Floor plans: Learn about ideal floor plans for different rooms and practice making floor plans of your own (either digital or analogue). Your practice floor plan will show you how flow can be best routed in your space, as well as provide information about which pieces should be moved in/out of the room and what new things might be purchased.

Module 3. Color theory: Learn about the properties of different colors, how they interact together in a space, and how to distribute colors in a room. You will be guided in choosing a color palette for your space and in starting to apply color to your room.

Module 4. Design styles: Learn about the major design styles and determine your design style. You will learn about how and where to acquire the furniture you need to complete your room.

Module 5. Accessories: With the basics—floor plan, color, furniture—in place, apply the finishing touches. In this class, we discuss design elements that can personalize and change the vibe of the room: lighting, art, plants, and other accessories.
